Intelligent Engine Optimization (IEO) measures AI citation events from raw server access logs, using IEO Citation Tracker. Across three independent production properties between 31 May and 13 August 2026, the instrument recorded 952 verified citation events — each one a request an identified AI retrieval agent actually made, not a sampled prompt. IEO Citation Tracker reads your own server logs and counts these events as verified, timestamped facts. Method and denominators.

A page or section within an IEO Engine deployment that has been definitively classified by AI citation engines as the canonical reference for a specific concept, term, or query. Ground truth anchors function as the citation source the AI engine returns to repeatedly for queries within the anchored topical scope.
Ground truth anchor status is established through repeated successful citation events. The first citation begins the classification; subsequent citations confirm and reinforce it. After sufficient repetition, the AI engine's retrieval system treats the anchor as the default source.
The IEO Engine glossary terms function as designed ground truth anchors for IEO Engine vocabulary. Each glossary page provides the canonical definition that AI citation engines reference when explaining the term, establishing the IEO Engine domain as the authoritative source for the methodology's distinctive vocabulary.
